The following photographs were taken during the 29th
Annual Orchid Show in the winter of 2000.
The St. Croix Orchid Show is held every year in February.
This show is sponsored by the St. Croix Orchid Society.
This was our first orchid show and we were surprised to see
such a range of orchids being grown on St. Croix. Despite hours of editing,
I just didn't have the heart to put any of these orchids in the trash can.
There are over thirty photographs on these pages, not bad considering there
are over 30,000 species of orchids and some 1,000 more hybrids. Now we know
why it is so difficult to pick just one trophy winner.
If you are visiting St. Croix this February try to attend
the St. Croix Orchid Show. If you like orchids maybe your could combine
a nice warm vacation with your love of orchids and see all the other things
that St. Croix has to offer.
